Livestock farms may remain exempt from emissions reporting

A handful of senators are trying to keep livestock arms exempt form emissions reporting.

Nebraska Senator Deb Fischer and 16 other colleagues are trying to amend the Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Act. In 2018, Congress said livestock farms were exempt from emissions reporting, and EPA exempted them from making similar reports to state and local officials, but the Biden Administration is looking to reconsider.

The National Pork Producers Council supports Fischer’s amendment.
