Livestock producers fear Merck could lower animal vaccine production

Livestock producers fear Merck’s new venture in the COVID vaccine will impact its work on animal vaccines.

Merck recently announced it will use its production facility to manufacture the Johnson and Johnson jab. Merck says that the move should not lower the production of animal vaccines, but stopped short of making a promise.

The company says that the animal vaccine plants are USDA-approved and separate from human vaccine plants, which fall under the FDA.
