Thanks to a mailman’s quick thinking, several packages destine for someone’s Christmas tree will still arrive after the postal worker pulled the gifts from a burning truck.
The Osawatomie Fire Department said around 11 a.m. the engine of a mail truck caught fire and that is when the mailman jumped into action.
The Fire Department said the mail carrier was able to safely escape the truck and get all the packages out, too. The department said the mail carrier’s quick work saved Christmas for local residents because the truck was full of Amazon deliveries and other important packages.
In a Facebook post, the local volunteer fire department said, “Your Prime delivery may have just lost its Prime. The good news is, the driver saved Christmas!”
