Markets Struggle after USDA Acreage Report

Markets struggle to bounce back after a surprising USDA acreage report. It has the industry looking at the National Agricultural Statistics Service and Farm Service Agency numbers with many saying they don’t line up. It’s important to note that not all acres are reported to FSA and some corn acres were planted as cover crops with no intention of being harvested for grain. USDA’s NASS data includes satellite images to gauge overall planting.
