Spencer Shuffield

Hot Springs, AR

Shuffield started his bass-fishing career early, first competing at the age of 17 as a co-angler on the FLW Tour in 2007. He finished in the Top 10 in Co-Angler of the Year standings for five consecutive years (picking up a win in 2010) before fishing as a pro in 2012. Since then, Shuffield has proven to be a force on the major tours, winning the Pro Circuit TITLE on the St. Lawrence River in 2022 and qualifying into the Bass Pro Tour for the 2023 season. Shuffield racked up four Top 10s on the BPT in 2024 and teamed up with Matt Becker to win the 2024 Challenge Cup in Erie, Pennsylvania.

FUN FACT
Shuffield almost golfed for a living instead of fishing. As for his start into fishing, Shuffield says, “I have always loved to fish since a rod was put in my hands. My dad wouldn’t let me go fishing with him unless I could throw a baitcaster. Here I went my 4-year-old self finding every little creek and pond Bismarck had begging grandparents and my mom to take me. Needless to say I mastered the skill pretty quick and the rest is history. Every tournament at my dad’s weigh-ins I could be found getting my tennis shoes muddy on the banks throwing a spinnerbait and so I was nicknamed. To everyone who knew me in the fishing community I was spinnerbait. I fished numerous night and local tournaments with my dad throughout my childhood and by the time I graduated high school I had over $20,000 saved up from winning tournaments. It was with this money that I paid cash for my first boat, a 18-foot Sprint with a 150hp xr6 Mercury.” Shuffield is the son of legendary FLW pro Ron Shuffield, When not on tour fishing, he likes to fish local tournaments, go crappie fishing, hunt and play golf. He also enjoys spending time with his family.
