Meat processing plants continue to close across the nation, as more workers are confirmed to have the coronavirus. Sen. Chuck Grassley states, “We’re seeing major disruptions in the food supply chain.”
However this is not the only issue facing the meat industry. As we have previously reported, an investigation was launched to understand the escalating divide between cattle prices and beef prices. According to Sen. Grassley, “USDA must quickly look into this matter. We cannot have meat packing margins skyrocket every time we have market disruptions.”
