Produce farm inspections will resume in Michigan on operations grossing over $250,000 dollars.
Phil Tocco with the Michigan State University Extension says a lot of time has been spent fielding calls about “who’s in” and “who’s out” for inspections.
Tocco says only about 1,300 farms in Michigan are covered under the rule, meaning they either need an inspection or need to supply information as to why they do not need one.
Tocco recommends anyway who needs to be inspected complete an On-Farm Readiness Review. You can find more here.
