Minnesota governor wants congress to establish permanent drought fund

A permanent drought fund, that is what Minnesota’s Governor Tim Walz wants to see Congress do for farmers.

Gov. Walz says that it took lawmakers too long to get money to producers impacted by last year’s drought, but as dry weather becomes more common, he thinks a permanent drought package that is refilled annually by the legislature is a good solution.
