More damage to Caribbean crops is expected from Hurricane Ernesto

Hurricane Ernesto is now the second named Atlantic Storm in just the last week.

The new system comes after slow-moving Debby hit Florida’s Gulf Coast and made its way to the Carolinas, bringing with it some heavy moisture.
While Ernesto is not expected to make landfall in the U.S., it has caused some major ag damage in Puerto Rico.

The country’s Agricultural Secretary says that flooding has occurred on banana and plantain farms and more losses are expected among coffee and vegetable crops.
