More Shipping Troubles: Illinois locks closed in June for construction

There could be more shipping troubles for ag commodities.

Illinois River locks will close later this year for construction. Four systems will be down from June to September, creating challenges in moving products north.

A grain and barge company tells Brownfield Ag News the worst bottlenecks, though, will come when the locks reopen.
They predict a mad dash in the busy season for transporting fertilizer and grain.
