Latest producer price index marks the highest rise since April 2023

Inflation appears to be sticking around, according to the latest Producer Price Index.

In April, the PPI rose half a percent, and the markets were expecting slightly less. On the year, it is up 2.2 percent, which is right in line with what analysts were expecting, and it is also the highest jump in a full year.

The Consumer Price Index comes out tomorrow, which will give us a better idea of where inflation is headed.
