Motion filed to have the EPA held accountable for improper 2016 waiver

Breaking news this morning, a coalition of biofuels and agricultural trade groups urge the Court of Appeals to hold the Environmental Protection Agency accountable.

They have filed a motion with the court wanting enforcement for a 2017 decision which requires the EPA to address an improper waiver of 500 million gallons of biofuel.

This was part of the 2016 renewable volume obligations.

The coalition of biofuels groups issued a statement saying, “It is simply unconscionable that EPA would so brazenly ignore a federal court’s order. It’s well past overdue that EPA restore the 500 million gallons and focus on restoring integrity to the Renewable Fuel Standard.”
