NAMI wants packers to the front of the vaccine line

The meat industry says that COVID infection rates among packers are now more than 80 percent below the general population.

The North American Meat Institute is urging the Biden administration to move all meat and poultry workers to the front of the vaccine line. The group says that in February, the rate of new cases was less than five percent, but for the general population, it was 26 percent.

The Meat Institute says that the numbers show all the safety measures put in place since the pandemic began are working.
