Two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch has passed away at the age of 41 after being hospitalized early Thursday with a severe illness.
According to NASCAR, he won two Cup Series titles and 63 races, setting records with 102 in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and 69 wins in the Craftsman Truck Series. He spent the final part of his career with Childress Racing, driving the No. 8 Chevrolet.
The Busch Family, Richard Childress Racing, and NASCAR issued a joint statement saying, “Our entire NASCAR family is heartbroken by the loss of Kyle Busch. A future Hall of Famer, Kyle was a rare talent, one who comes along once in a generation.
