The U.S. Department of Transportation has announced a 30 day extension to the hours of service exemption for livestock and feed haulers. It is a welcome move for producers across the country.
Allison Rivera with the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association speaks with RFD-TV’s own Janet Adkison on what this extension means for the industry and what else can be done to help the sector. According to Rivera, “The key word here is flexibility. We continue to push FMCSA for the need for flexibility for our livestock haulers, particularly during this time when they’ve been deemed part of the critical infrastructure. We need to make sure we are giving them the flexibility they need.”
