The Trump administration’s revisions to the National Environmental Policy Act are now officially in effect.
That is after a federal judge blocked activists’ attempts to stop it.
The National Cattlemen Beef Association says that ranchers using federal grazing allotments can go through the process more efficiently now. According to NCBA’s Scott Yager, “That comes into play with wildfires, because we all know cattle producers play a role in helping to mitigate fuel loads by grazing down grasses in the west, and without those fuel loads in place its a lot harder for wildfires to take root and spread.”
Yager also notes that all USDA loan programs have to go through the NEPA process.
