Nebraska ag officials want lawmakers to help expand trade markets

International trade is crucial for farmers and ranchers, and a new study shows more could be done to expand certain markets.

The Nebraska Farm Bureau recently looked at trade over the last two years, and they say it is a big part of business for producers in the state, making up around 30 percent of their earnings. However, they want more action from Washington. They are asking the Biden Administration and Congress to talk with key export partners and find ways to bring growth to existing markets.

Currently, soybeans, corn, and beef make up the majority of exports in the Cornhusker State.
