Nebraska Program Connects Donated Beef With Foster Families

Foster Love With Beef gives ranchers a way to support foster families in their communities.

HARRISON, Neb. (RFD-TV News) — A Nebraska ranching family is turning its experience with foster care into a way to support other families through donated beef.

Jessi Grote, founder and CEO of Foster Love With Beef, joined us on Saturday’s Market Day Report to share how the program began after she and her husband fostered six children.

In her conversation with RFD-TV News, Grote said the couple wanted to remain involved in the foster care community and found a way to connect that mission with ranching. The program provided about 300 pounds of donated beef to 45 families in its first year and nearly 1,500 pounds to more than 200 families last year.

Grote says the response from farmers and ranchers has been overwhelmingly positive, with producers eager to find a tangible way to help families in their communities.
