Hog producers can now apply for the latest round of pandemic relief. Beginning today, you can enroll in the Spot Market Hog program by picking up form 940 at your FSA office.
The payment is based on losses in negotiated sale rates between April and September of last year. That is when producers faced the greatest loss in market prices. It takes into account any payments you maybe have received through CFAP 2.
According to FSA Administrator, Zach Ducheneaux, “Small, spot market hog program payments will be calculated by multiplying the number of head eligible, not to exceed 10,000, by the payment rate of $54 dollars, and that’ll be the payment for the producers.”
