A New Zealand couple has dug up the world’s largest potato and they have given it a spud-tagular name.
They were weeding their garden when they struck something huge beneath the soil. What they uncovered could be the largest potato on record!
It weighs 17 pounds which is close to a couple of sacks of regular potatoes. While sizeable, it is not exactly pretty. In fact, Donna describes it as ugly and mutant.
The couple’s potato has become something of a celebrity around their small farm town. They named the potato Doug, after the way it was unearthed, and even built a small car to tow Doug around.
