Ninth-generation grower Hunter Grills is Tennessee’s Young Farmer of the Year

Farmers have the opportunity to get rewarded for their commitment to excellence in the ag industry and their efficiency in farming practices. Today, we meet the Tennessee Farm Bureau Federation’s Young Farmer of the Year-- Hunter Grills.

Grills is a ninth-generation farmer and looks after about 3,000 acres. He has a very diverse operation, growing everything from corn and soybeans to wheat and oats, as well as a running a commercial beef herd.

“We can see wanting to expand the farming operation and wanting to be profitable,” he said. “However, I don’t want to get too caught up in it that we lose vision and the focus on family and the farm.”
