North Dakota meat processor closing doors after not receiving federal grant

A small meat processor in North Dakota says that it never received promised federal grant funding, and now, they have to shut its doors.

South 40 Beef announced the closure on Facebook.

They were supposed to get nearly $472,000 dollars for them Rural Development Agency, but the business owner told Meating Place the grant was not disbursed, and they would have had to spend multiple times that amount to receive it.

The money was supposed to come through the Meat and Poultry Processing Expansion program.
