USDA set to invest $250 million to reduce wildfire risk

USDA is spending $250 million dollars to reduce wildfire risk.

The money is available to help at-risk communities to protect their homes, businesses, and infrastructure from catastrophic wildfires. The goal is to fund 158 projects in 31 states, two territories, and eleven tribes.

They will develop community wildfire protection plans and remove overgrown vegetation that fuels fires.

Last year, more than 2 million Americans, including farmers and those in rural America, were displaced by weather events, including wildfires.
