Timber is one of the most important commodities for the norther part of Idaho.
The Idaho Farm Bureau presents this video highlighting the state’s robust timber industry. Rider Ranch’s Linda Rider states, “The timber industry has been a mainstay in this whole northern part of the state for many, many years... If you have a forest that’s old growth, thick stand that has no vegetation on the ground, it doesn’t support the deer and the elk... So, you have to have spacing just to have a good healthy forest.”
