Those who live in the Northern part of the United States may get to witness a stunning sight.
According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, geomagnetic storm activity will allow the Northern Lights to be visible in Wisconsin and Michigan.
However, it is not just those two states. Residents of Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, New York, Vermont, and Maine may also get a glimpse.
The lights form when charged particles emitted from the sun during a solar flare penetrate the earth’s magnetic shield and collide with atoms and molecules in our atmosphere. These collisions result in countless little bursts of light, which usually appear in a bright green color but can also be blue and pink.
