There is yet another holdup in a key nomination that farm groups are eager to fill.
Doug McKalip has broad support for the Chief Ag Negotiator position, but Senator Bob Menendez of New Jersey, who is not on the Ag Committee, says he wants more information from the U.S. Trade Representative, Katherine Tai. He specifically wants reassurances he will establish more oversight and transparency in trade policy.
He has opposed confirmation until he has more information.
