A new pork campaign has sparked interest in the Kansas City Airport.

The new ads from that National Pork Producers Council read “Pork BBQ...it comes from a pig, not Silicon Valley.”

The ads are an effort to raise awareness about labeling concerns with plant-based products.

Dr. Dan Kovich, director of science and technology for the National Pork Producers Council, said the ad in Kansas City was selected because the city is hosting the upcoming National Pork Industry Forum and because barbecue is very important to the city.

Kovich added that one of NPPC’s concerns with the fake meat is the usage of the word “pork” on a product that does not come from a pig.
