NPPC weighs in on CA judge halting implementation of Prop 12

The pork sector is reacting after a California judge halted the implementation of Prop 12. The law, which sets strict housing standards for hogs, now won’t take effect until six months after the state publishes the final rules.

National Pork Producers Council‘s Michael Formica spoke with RFD-TV’s Suzanne Alexander about how it’s good news for the industry, but also a “stop gap,” why it’s taking the California Ag Department so long to set the rules, and when he thinks the rules might be published.
