Pandemic buying habits put America’s wheat farmers in a bind

As baking essentials have become harder to find, it has created an interesting situation for America’s wheat farmers.

When there was widespread panic buying at the beginning of the pandemic, it caused an uptick in wheat futures.

According to Chandler Goule, CEO of the National Association of Wheat Growers, that could cause some wheat farmers to not be eligible for the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program through the USDA.
