Parts of Vermont, Maine and New Hampshire wake up to snow Tuesday

MARSHFIELD, Vt (AP) — Some parts of northern New England woke up to more spring snow on Tuesday.

Parts of northern Vermont saw 1 to 4 inches (2.4 to 10 centimeters) from overnight snowfall in nearly the middle of May, according to the National Weather Service.

In Maine, 2 inches (5 centimeters) fell at the base of Sugarloaf Mountain and 1 inch (2.4 centimeters) at Moosehead Lake. Higher elevations got more.

New Hampshire’s Mount Washington recorded 8.6 inches (21.8 centimeters) at the summit.
