According to new data released by Pitchbook and The Good Food Institute, a non-profit alternative protein advocacy group, plant-based foods have seen record funding.
In 2019, the U.S. plant-based sector raised $747 million, an 11 percent increase from 2018. Additionally, 2020 is set to smash that record from 2018 as $741 million has already been raised between January and March of 2020.
In the past decade, plant-based meat, egg and dairy companies have raised $2.7 billion total.
Some projections say the plant-based food market could grow 28 percent a year and reach $85 billion total by 2030.
