Preliminary settlement reached in wage suppression suit

Three major chicken processors are closer to settling ongoing lawsuits.

Plaintiffs asked a federal judge to approve a preliminary settlement.

Cargill, Sanderson Farms, and Wayne Farms all signed earlier agreements to pay nearly $85 million dollars to settle. This all comes from allegations the companies conspired to illegally control employee wages and benefits.

Each company denied any wrongdoing.
