President Trump signs memo to direct more water to California farmers

President Trump has signed a memorandum to direct more water to farmers in California’s Central Valley.

The President met with rural stakeholders in California on Wednesday afternoon and told the audience that for far too long authorities have flushed millions of gallons of clean water from up north into the Pacific Ocean.

The memo will put pressure on California Governor Gavin Newsom to make the changes necessary within California’s water system to give Central and Southern California farmers more water to irrigate crops.

The president claimed farmers and rural citizens are paying taxes for water they never see.

The memo will also allow for fish hatchery upgrades, habitat restoration and implement real-time monitoring of water flow and temperature.
