President Donald Trump thanked farmers and ranchers for their support and highlighted trade success during his keynote speech at the American Farm Bureau Federation Annual Convention and Trade Show in Austin.

“We did a great deal with China, great for our country and hopefully it is great for China too because we are going to sell them the greatest product they’ve ever seen, right,” the President said to cheers at the beginning of his speech.

“The deal with China will tear down market barriers and pry open vast new markets for American beef, pork, poultry, seafood, soybeans, rice, dairy, infant formula, animal feed, biotechnology, and much, much more,” he later said about the deal “This is an incredible success for our entire country. And it was your fortitude, your perseverance and your devotion. That made it all possible.”

Early in his speech, President Trump also held a copy of the Farm Journal poll that highlighted his overwhelming support from America’s farmers and ranchers. In turn, the President thanked the country’s farmers and ranchers for sticking with him the entire way.

“The best days for America’s farmers are yet to come,” he later said to one of many loud applause throughout his speech.

President Trump also touted USMCA as well.

He noted that under the agreement, Canada will give better access to U.S. dairy, poultry exports to Canada could jump up to 50 percent, exports of eggs to Canada and Mexico could be up 500 percent, Canada will give better treatment to American wheat growers.

“The two momentous trade deals we completed last week are just the beginning of a really incredible story,” he said.

President Trump also highlighted the deal with Japan, which saw Japan slash $7 billion worth of tariffs on American agriculture products.
