The latest USDA Food Price Outlook has been released and it shows you could be paying more soon for both groceries and meals.
The Consumer Price Index for all food increased 0.2 percent from August to September.
Food prices were almost 4 percent higher last month compared to the same time period last year.
The level of food price inflation depends if food was purchased at home or in a restaurant. Grocery store food purchases increased 0.1 percent in September and 2 percent higher than in 2022.
Food away from home increased 0.4 percent and 6 percent higher than last year.
