Producers along the southern plains may now have an extended tax deadline following last week’s winter storm. Many tax items and due dates are automatically extended following a federal disaster declaration.
Ag CPA Paul Neiffer speaks with RFD-TV’s own on some of the details about the extensions.
“Essentially, everybody that is in that disaster area designation, they have an automatic due date now of June 15th instead of April 15th. So, if they normally had to file and pay their taxes by April 15th, now that’s been pushed out to June 15th and other certain tax acts and deadlines are also pushed out to June 15th. That’s really good news; a lot of those people are still struggling to recover from that so that’ll give them a couple extra months,” Neiffer states.
