Vladimir Putin says he backed out of the Black Sea Grain Deal because it has lost its meaning.

The Russian president had been quiet since the Deal expired last week, but writing in an article on the Kremlin’s website, he says Russia’s conditions had largely been ignored. He also said the deal did not justify its humanitarian purpose.

The U.N. revealed last week it was not the poorest nation’s that received the most grain from Odesa ports as China came in first with Spain and Turkey right behind.
