The current pandemic and the regulations to fight it have caused disruptions in nearly every ag sector and market, especially the dairy industry. Bottlenecking of the supply chain has caused milk producers to dump their product.
Stephanie Finn, of Finndale Farms LLC, says, “Everyone is in the same bind right now. We had such a short period to try to adjust to this quarantine process...everybody is struggling to adjust to this difference.”
Many farmers and the Missouri Department of Ag are asking grocery stores to remove any limits that might have been placed on dairy products. Producers claim that there is no shortage of milk and they will be able to keep shelves stocked.
