Cold storage numbers of red meat have fallen lower on the month, with several categories seeing a decline.
In total, red meat supplies came in just below 930 million pounds at the end of May, which is a three percent drop from April and five percent off the year. Beef supplies fell 3 percent; pork inventories were also down three percent and nearly 10 percent off the year; and pork belly saw a 14 percent yearly drop, coming in at 71.4 million pounds.
