NASHVILLE, Tenn (RFD-TV) For three consecutive years, from 2013-2015, Nancy Hunter dominated RODEO HOUSTON. She also qualified for the WNFR in 2014 and 2015 after competing in just 26 rodeos.
Nancy was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last August. On Sunday, March 12, 2017 she was called home.
Her son, Wyatt, wrote on Facebook, “As Nancy Hunter entered the alley of mortality, she had a determination to find success in all that she did. Her passionate approach to the arena of life left an influence on immeasurable amounts of people, her impact on those will affect generations. As she ran through the pattern of this mortality she met the challenges and tough times head on never shrinking from her path always keeping in mind that with the greatest of trials there will always be the success at the end. She gave her all in everything she did and proved that a little girl from a little town can do the greatest of things with hard work and focus. This morning Nancy rounded the third barrel and ran home to that God who gave her life with her head held high knowing she had done all the Lord had commanded her to do. We lay her mortal body down to rest until the day of the great Resurrection, her spirit received into the arms of Jesus Christ her savior, and ushered into that paradise that was prepared for her. We fully know that Mr. Fuzz and all her puppies are eager to spend the much-awaited time and have her hold them once more. Today we have very mixed feeling but are excited for the legacy she continues to grow as she heads off to the next rodeo of the eternities. I am reminded of the lyrics of the song that plays at the end of the Lehi Roundup Rodeo '…Till We Meet Again.’ Nancy, ride hard straight lines and tight barrels as you move onto your next assignment and we wait with eagerness to the day we meet again in the kingdom of our God. Team Hunter thanks all who have sent prayers and special wishes, and want to reach out to all who were affected by this great lady and let you know she leaves with love to each of you.”
Our deepest condolences go out to her husband, family, and friends, as she will be deeply missed by all.
