NASHVILLE, Tenn (RFD-TV) Our hearts go out to the “Hee Haw” family today as Sam Lovullo, Producer and Casting Director of the long-running series passed away on Tuesday.
Lovullo was born September 30th, 1928, in Buffalo, New York. He started his entertainment career at 15 and eventually rose to be Associate Producer for the Jonathan Winters Show. When it was canceled Lovullo and the show’s writers persuaded CBS to finance a country music variety show, shot in Nashville, which they named “Hee Haw.”
Lovullo passed away at his home in Encino, California at the age of 88.
