Renewable Fuels Association calls California’s proposals “fundamentally flawed”

Biofuel groups are speaking out over California’s renewable fuels proposals.

Specifically, the Renewable Fuels Association calls it “fundamentally flawed.” The California Air Resources Board will soon vote on several measures around renewable fuels in the state. Ag groups argue the Board is not giving farmers enough credit for carbon reduction practices.

RFA CEO Geoff Cooper says the proposals is disconnected from reality, and if finalized, would result in shortages of low-carbon fuels, and could lead to higher prices.

Growth Energy says the proposals would hurt crop farmers looking to cash in on biofuel production.
