A mare and a colt who were rescued after at least 20 horses were shot and killed in eastern Kentucky have been named according to WLKY News.
The Kentucky Humane Society announced the names on Sunday after taking name requests for the two horses. Hope and Knox were the names picked. The two horses survived after at least 20 horses were found shot to death near a strip mine.
The goal is to get the horses adopted in the near future.
Investigators are still looking for who is responsible for the horses’ deaths.
