RFD-TV’s THE AMERICAN Releases Cash Payout of $293,875 in Mesquite this weekend

OMAHA, Neb. – This weekend, athletes from across the world will gather to earn their spot in the world’s richest one-day rodeo, RFD-TV’s THE AMERICAN. The top-five Semifinal winners from Bareback Riding, Saddle Bronc, Steer Wrestling, Tie Down Roping and top-five teams in Team Roping along with the top ten Barrel Racers and one Bull Riding qualifier will advance to THE AMERICAN.

“The payout is nearly $300-thousand in Mesquite for our contestants, giving them a shot to compete for $2 million dollars on March 2,” said Randy Bernard, Rural Media Group CEO and president. “RFD-TV is proud to make Texas-sized payments in the sport of rodeo.”

The qualifiers to THE AMERICAN will compete against the exemptions and the top 10 athletes in the 2013 world standings next weekend. RFD-TV’s THE AMERICAN presented by Polaris RANGER will be held on March 2 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. It is the richest one-day rodeo in the history of western sports with a $2 million payout.
