Rural Americans make the best soldiers

The Veteran Administration says that farmers bring a lot of skills into the military because of their line of work.

They can tolerate adversity, are comfortable with a demanding lifestyle, and can handle the rigors of training.

The VA found more than 10 percent of U.S. farmers have served or are serving in the military, and nearly a quarter of all vets choose to live in rural areas after they finish their service.
