OMAHA, Neb. (RFD News) — With the school year getting underway, immunizations are back in focus for families.
University of Nebraska President Dr. Jeffrey Gold joined us on Friday’s Rural Health Matters to discuss the latest vaccine recommendations and considerations.
In his conversation with RFD News, Gold said vaccination decisions should be based on scientific evidence and conversations with health care professionals. He also emphasized the public health role of vaccines in protecting people who may be more vulnerable to illness.
Gold said the number of children entering kindergarten without vaccinations has now exceeded 4%, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
