PARKER, Co. (RFD News) — New yield projections from USDA’s Risk Management Agency are providing producers with an updated look at potential ARC-CO and PLC payments for the 2025 crop year.
Farm CPA Paul Neiffer joined us on Thursday’s Market Day Report to break down the latest estimates.
In his conversation with RFD News, Neiffer says projected ARC-CO payments remain strongest in parts of the Eastern Corn Belt, with some Iowa counties also expected to receive significant payments. He says soybean payments are generally projected to be lower than corn, with Indiana and Ohio expected to see some of the highest soybean payments.
Neiffer says Congress changed the rules for the 2025 crop year, allowing producers to receive whichever payment is higher between ARC-CO and PLC. He says those payments are expected to be distributed in October.
