Sen. Jerry Moran on Farm Bill: U.S. ag is at a pressure point

Little progress has been made on the new Farm Bill.

Kansas Senator Jerry Moran is warning U.S. agriculture is at a pressure point and says Congress owes certainty to the nation’s producers. He has been in Congress since 1997 and has been involved in many Farm Bills. He says they have always come with challenges but this year feels different.

Several program provisions need to be reworked and Moran says now is the time for leadership. He wants to get ag leaders back on the table to get a meaningful Farm Bill written and finalized.

The House and Senate are now on spring break and both will not be back in chambers until at least April 9th.
