We are one step closer to the confirmation of Ag Secretary nominee, Tom Vilsack.
The Senate Ag Committee unanimously passed his confirmation Tuesday afternoon.
Progressive groups were critical of his record on civil rights, but Vilsack said he would carry through the President’s climate and racial justice goals.
He is one of several cabinet nominees awaiting full confirmation. The Senate leader said that he will press forward with the process as quickly as possible.
