NASHVILLE, Tenn (RFD-TV) President Donald Trump’s nominee to lead the agriculture department, former Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue, testified before a committee of the U.S. Senate at his confirmation hearing today.
Sonny Perdue is a University of Georgia graduate, a veterinary doctor, an agribusiness leader, and a two-term Governor of Georgia. The outgoing Ag Secretary, Tom Vilsack, has endorsed Sonny Perdue’s appointment as his successor.
Many expect his confirmation to be one of the smoothest of Trump’s cabinet.
RFD-TV’s Janet Adkison is in the nation’s capitol, bringing live reports throughout Perdue’s confirmation hearing.
